Board Nominations

The Nominating Committee welcomes the input of all AHS members in shaping the future membership of the Board of Directors.

All members of the Board of Directors are elected by the AHS membership for three-year terms. One-third of the directors are elected annually to provide continuity. Board members may serve two consecutive three-year terms. The Board of Directors in turn elects six officers (President, 1st and 2nd  Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Chairman of the Board) from among its members for two-year terms. The Executive Committee is composed of the six officers listed above plus three additional Directors appointed for one year by the Chairman of the Board, in consultation with the President. This Committee meets in person one or two times during the year and at the beginning of each national meeting, in addition to monthly video conferences.

The Board of Directors meets in person annually. For this reason, it is essential that each Board member be reasonably certain of attending all the national meetings during the three-year term as a Director. We invite you to share in the selection process by logging into myAHS and placing a name (or names) in nomination for the next year’s election to the Board of Directors any time up through November 30th. Nomination(s) will be considered with others received by the Nominating Committee as it selects candidates to be listed on the official secret ballot to be mailed early each year to all members of the Society. Names of all nominees received will be forwarded to the Nominating Committee for consideration.
