The official hotel of the 2023 Summer Institute & National Competition is the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza, immediately adjacent to the Colburn School. Sitting atop Bunker Hill, this hotel features luxurious accommodations and modern conveniences to exceed the desires of today’s business and leisure travelers. The hotel in downtown Los Angeles rises 17 stories and reflects the sophistication of downtown Los Angeles while offering an outdoor heated lap pool, spa services, fitness center, two restaurants and an exclusive Executive Club Floor and Lounge. Iconic L.A. staples like Grand Central Market, The Broad Museum and Angels Flight Railway are just a few steps from the hotel.
For this special group rate, the daily $30 Destination Fee has been waived, and deluxe WiFi is included. Overnight discounted valet parking is $42/night.* (Do NOT prepay for parking as it will be at a higher rate.) If you wish to vacation a bit in Los Angeles before or after the event, the discounted rate is available May 27 through June 7. Cancellation 72 hours or more prior to arrival will avoid a 1 night room and tax penalty. The group deadline has passed, but rooms may still be available at the AHS rate; reservations must be made using the link below to obtain the group discount.
Nightly rates:
Single or double occupancy: $239 + 14% tax
Triple occupancy: $259 + 14% tax
Quadruple occupancy: $279 + 14% tax
* Limited parking may be available for those bringing harps in and out of the Colburn School at no charge. A request with registration is required.
On campus
The Colburn School offers residence hall two-, three-, or four-bedroom suites. Bedrooms are available as double or single occupancy, and are furnished with everything you’ll need: extra-long twin beds; desks/chairs; nightstands with lamps; and wardrobes. There is also a shared common area in the suite with one or two bathrooms, standard living room furniture, including a Roku television, and a kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, and cabinet space.) A laundry room is located on the second floor of the Olive Building. Must be age 13 or older to stay in the Residential Hall.
Dormitory rates:
Single occupancy room: $100 per bed per night
Double occupancy room: $85 per bed per night
Optional one-time $30 linen fee per bed (sheets and towels; bring your own pillow). (You may also provide all of your own bedding if you prefer.)
On-campus housing must be reserved no later than April 27, 2023, no exceptions. Dorm reservations are now closed.
There are several airports in the Los Angeles area, and airfares may vary. The most convenient may be Los Angeles International (LAX), with several ground transportation options.
