THE ANDERSON GROUP SUMMER INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP

Anderson Group, the endorsed provider of Harp Insurance for members of the American Harp Society, is pleased to announce the 1st Anderson Group Summer Institute Scholarship.

The award will be given on the basis of financial need and musical promise in the study of the harp and will be awarded on or before March 18, 2007.

Award: Two individual scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to attend the American Harp Society Seventh Summer Institute/17th National Competition June 18-21, 2007.
Application Deadline: February 18, 2007

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be active members of the American Harp Society.
• Maximum age limit of 40 years old by February 18, 2007.
• Attendance at the Summer Institute.
• Applications must be received by February 18, 2007.

APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:

• Biography: Including applicant’s full name, legal residence, present address, telephone number, email address, proof of age (copy of driver’s license birth certificate, etc.), musical and academic education, personal profile, general analysis of financial need (current income, copy of pay stub, or other proof of income, list of current household expenses, and any other additional relevant information) and long-range goals for your harp-playing.
• Handwritten Statement: Two pages or less about why this award is desired and why the applicant otherwise might not be able to pursue immediate goals.
• CD Recording: 5- 15 minute recording of applicant playing.
• Letter of Reference: From present instructor evaluating candidacy for award.

Registration and housing will be paid directly to AHS. Travel and meal expense will be paid directly to award recipient.
