The International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen (ISFHC)
http://www.folkharpsociety.org/

The International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen was organized to promote playing and enjoyment of the folk harp by all. (The term folk indicates a harp without levers and smaller than a concert harp. It may be Welsh, Celtic, Paraguayan, Venezuela , Chinese, etc.) It also seeks to promote education, creation, and development in the building of folk harps, to increase awareness of professional folk harpers, and to increase public awareness of the music and joys of the folk harp.

Regional chapters welcome new members. For more information visit www.FolkHarpSociety.org. These groups encourage group playing  in "harp circles" or  ''sessions" with a variety of instruments. Chapter coordinator is Sharon Thormahlen (harps@thorharp.com).  It conducts regular summer conferences and festivals and plans the next one in July 2010 in either St. Louis or Kansas City, MO.
