The “AHS Kids’ Camp Fund” was established to make summer music camp a reality for a young harpist who might not otherwise have such an opportunity.

An award of $500 will be given on the basis of great financial need of a promising young harp student.

Application deadline is 1 April 2010

Requirements

  1. Applicants must be members of the American Harp Society.
  2. Applicants must be between the ages of 10 years and 17 years by 1 April 2010.
  3. Applications must be received by 1 April 2010.

Application Should Include

  1. Applicant’s full name, age, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
  2. Specific plans to attend a summer music camp.
  3. A brief biography which shall include musical and academic education, a general analysis of financial need and a statement on why this award would be of help to the applicant.
  4. A CD recording of the applicant’s playing, of no more than 10 minutes in length, which demonstrates musical ability. Selections are to be free choice. The emphasis in judging is to be on musicality, not on technical merit or length of study.
  5. Two letters of reference, evaluating the applicant’s candidacy. One of these should be from a present or previous harp instructor.
